PBIS at Pepper Ridge: Pepper Ridge Elementary School has adopted a behavior management program called PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies) to help establish a positive school climate. Everyone in the school is actively involved in the program and committed to its success.
Pepper Ridge has three expectation, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be a Leader. These expectations are universal through all areas of the school. There is a matrix attached to this link that outlines each expectation in the different areas of the building, such as the classrooms, hallways, restrooms, playground, bus, etc.
A strong reinforcement system is a major component of the program. Students earn, Puma Paws when they make good behavioral choices. These paws can be used to purchase school supplies at the school store, purchase participation in special field trips, and many other privileges throughout the building.
